And now, the actual cover: I think this might just be my favourite Hidden Empire cover so far. I especially love that bronze/gold effect on the water (although you’ll discover if you read the book that this is not water you’d want to swim in).

After recently turning in the final edits on Queen of Nowhere my editor has given me the official word that I can release the cover copy. And here it is… “When paranoia is a way of life, trust doesn’t come easily. The Sidhe look like us. They live amongst us. What they lack in numbers […]

Here’s what I’ll be up to this Saturday in Derby: 12pm – Building Characters Through Questions. Workshop, with me and whoever books a place on it. There may be an exercise, but there won’t be any homework. 2pm – Have the Limits of SF Become Blurred? Panel, with John Jarrold and Justina Robson. I’m not […]

Here it is, the cover for my upcoming chapbook from Clarion Publishing: Cool’ ain’t it?

The above activity is one I don’t get to indulge in as much as I’d like. However, as I mentioned before, I will be doing it this weekend, specifically between 6pm and 7.30pm at Clevedon Community Bookshop, Clevedon, Somerset. So, that Sekrit Project … I’m delighted to announce that Clarion Publishing will be putting out three of my ‘Angel’ stories (a triptych, I might say were I feeling pretentious), under the title Downside Girls. The three stories are linked, both to each other and to Principles of Angels, and they give insights into the […]

I have a number of writing related gigs coming up so I reckon it’s time to list them here … 7th July – Clevedon Community Bookshop have kindly invited me to do a reading, sign some books and answer questions/give a short talk. Page down for more on that. 14th July – I’ll be amongst […]

I have an ambivalent relationship with hard (or, as some people call it ‘proper’) Science Fiction. I know I can’t write it (for I am greatly afeared of equations) but I like to read it because This is the universe! At its most amazing! However, I sometimes find reading hard SF a matter of virtue […]

Today marks the release date of the paperback of Bringer of Light, whose marvellous cover (see right) looks even better in the smaller format.
