This blog has been around for a long time. As such, this isn’t the first time, after a year of relative inactivity here, that I’ve publicly stated my intention to Do Better This Year. Some years I have, some… less so.
Looking back now after 20+ years of Tales From the Garret (which I should really rename as I no longer write in a garret, not to mention doing a refresh of the website’s look) I know this quiet corner of the web for the anachronism it is (so no, I won’t actually be revamping it any time soon). As such, the current plan is to share stuff here that doesn’t fit on one of the many other channels for self-expression now available. This will often be because what I fancy saying requires more than the bite-sized chunks which are now the default mode for online self-expression and/or because I’m saying stuff I wouldn’t want to say elsewhere.
A lot of what ends up here will still be writing related, because I’m a writer. But I also plan on taking advantage of how quiet it is around here to go a bit off-piste now and again. This means I may share my Opinions on various subjects, from the frivolous to the occasionally contentious. You have been warned.
