Review – Winterwood

I should read my outside my comfort zone more often: this book proves it. Winterwood by Jacey Bedford is an easy, compelling read which ticks loads of boxes – pirates, fae, adventure, angst, ghosts, wild magic – whilst managing to surprise you with unexpected plot developments and delight you with its beautifully paced story and believably strange world. A delicious page-turner.

Not much more to say really, other than that 2016 is already turning out to be a great year for books.

  • The Tim Machine, Far From the Madding Cod, The Girl With All the Nits. (This is way too easy...) ,
  • If there was any doubt that Boris and The Donald are soulmates, it's been dispelled. Expensive, impractical and frankly bonkers engineering projects? You so got it covered, boys. ,
  • My ever unreliable home broadband is celebrating by bouncing up and down like Tigger *sigh*,
  • It is half way through January. January is half done. We will survive January. Really, we will. ,
  • Happy America. (Except for nazis and other racist types - they should have to work double-time today.),
