Happy New Year

I’d love to be able to kick off 2015 by announcing I’ll have another novel out this year, either continuing the Hidden Empire sequence or something new but alas, I can’t. I have been working on other novel-length projects, and at least one of these will (by hook or crook) eventually see print. Just not this year.

I will, however, be putting out (at least!) two novellas this year, both set in interesting corners of the Hidden Empire universe. In addition, I’ve got a short story which returns to my story-writing roots in the marvellously titled ‘Mammoth Book of Tales from the Vatican Vaults’, coming out in May. And I’ll be contributing to a fascinating shared universe project which remains top sekrit for now (on pain of lawsuit) but for which details will follow in due course.

Last but not least I’m a Guest of Honour at one of my favourite conventions, Bristolcon, in September.

2014 wasn’t a great year, but I start 2015 with hopes of improvement.

Hi I have just found a couple of your books st my local library. I originally as a teenager read as much science fiction I could find. As my maiden name was Fenn too, I thought I should read your books and I really enjoyed them. Nice to know that the name Fenn is caught up in the science fiction genre. I will read more as they become available. We could be related in some mysterious distant way.

It’s good to know my books are in libraries down under – and that you enjoyed them. I’ve got relatives in the US, though none I know of in Australia, although for me Fenn is the short form of Fennell, which was originally an Irish name.
