I thought I’d share my schedule for Nine Worlds Geekfest, which is only two weeks away now:
Saturday 13:45 to 14:45 – Is our Future Utopian or Dystopian? Science fiction writers present the evidence and debate our future – where are we heading, utopia or dystopia? Galaxy spanning empire or barren wasteland? Where are the signs, and what do we deserve? With Charles Stross, Cory Doctorow, Tricia Sullivan and Tom Hunter
Saturday 3pm to 4pm – Book signing at the Forbidden Planet stall, with Tricia Sullivan.
Sunday 10:15 to 11:15 – Can’t Take the Sky From Me: Science Fiction and Space Travel. It’s over fifty years since we sent the first humans into space. Are we still as excited about going to the stars? How have real-world concerns about the reality and practicality of space travel affected the genre? With Stephanie Saulter, Gavin Smith, Ian Whates, Charles Stross and Adam Christopher.
And just over a month after that, I’ll be sharing the Guest of Honour slot with Paul Cornell at Andromeda One, in Birmingham. Here’s the full spec on that:
