Better late than never

I’m in the last few days of (semi) holiday before I get stuck into round one of the rewrites for Queen of Nowhere. Between bouts of (currently quite time-consuming) day-job, I’ve still got a short story to finish, and some new novel pitches to hone. On the domestic front, the household’s boiler has developed a bizarre electrical fault which appears to have converted it into a spark transmitter. Oddly, this occurrence has reminded me that I also need to rewrite a (currently unnamed) novella (sort of) about the end of the world. One a more mundane note, today’s writing schedule is liable to be interrupted by a plumber at any moment.

Meanwhile, I’ve had a review of Bringer of Light from Cybermage, whom I publicly forgive for the space-elves comment just this once, and have seen many excellent photos of the launch event in Winchester, some of which you can view on Flickr here courtesy of Simon Bradshaw –  please note that the first picture (‘My preciouses!’) was posed; this is not normal authorial behaviour.
