Writing Season

The early summer is shaping up to be very busy, writing-wise. One consequence of this is that my posts here may be rather infrequent. Another is that I won’t be going to a couple of upcoming events I had hoped to attend: the first of these is The Write Fantastic in Cambridge, which I recommend to anyone looking for literary diversion this very weekend; the second is Alt. Fiction, up in Derby, at the end of June.

However, if all goes to schedule (unlike last year) then I will be reclaiming some of my social life in the late summer or autumn, and will be at FantasyCon and BristolCon.

Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a quote from the CIA website (yes, they have a public website) which, whilst typically tautological, nicely defines the predicament faced by the hero of Queen of Nowhere: ‘Intelligence errors are factual inaccuracies in analysis resulting from poor or missing data’. (Or, to put it another way: just because she’s exceptionally good at gathering information, it don’t mean she knows what’s really going on.)
